Add New Chords and Scales
Occasionally, you may come across a chord or scale you will not have available in Guitar Freak Workstation…
Have no fear – you can add chords and scales easily!
• You can enter the chord on the fret board – the spelling notes will check automatically (though you may have to correct them – for example, the chord might have a b3 not a #9)
• If you hover your mouse over any of the notes that have a note displaying, a little yellow box will appear to tell you what the spelling of that note is.
• You can also enter the notes of the chord by clicking on the spelling – the notes will appear on the fret board automatically
• You can enter a description of the chord if there’s anything you’d like to point out about it – perhaps you could suggest a scale that goes well with it!
• You can play the notes of the scale at any time and they will arpeggiate in a scholarly fashion.
• Once you’re ready to add your chord, click on a chord on the left and when you press save, it will be added under that chord.
• if you need to correct a chord, choose it from the list, press “load” and it will load all the fret board and spelling. Then go ahead and correct it. Delete it from the list and then reload it.
• the “enharmonic” button – when it’s ticked – it opens the possibility to tertial spelling (double flats and double sharps) – so unless you’re a boffin, you may want to leave this box un-ticked
